After an involuntary three–year recording break for Barcode, the unyielding hardcore band is ready to go far beyond the Danish borders with their coming and fourth album. The band has just signed an international four album contract with one of the world’s biggest metal companies – German Nuclear Blast.
– We recorded a promo, which we sent out to about 60 record labels from all over the world, but it didn’t really pay off. At the same time my other band, Hatesphere was negotiating with Nuclear Blast, and one day I just asked them, “Are you never gonna release some real hardcore?” recalls Barcode front man Jacob Bredahl from Iceland, where he is to play a couple of gigs with Hatesphere the next few days.
Nuclear Blast did in fact listen to the Barcode promo one more time, and this time the Germans were very enthusiastic. The result was a record deal, which Barcode is very pleased with.
