Spleen United gained great merits for their appearance on January 12 at the Eurosonic Festival in the Dutch city of Groningen. Not only was the band contacted promptly by BBC Radio One regarding a recording of the band later on, the world’s biggest music weekly, British New Music Express, was also generous when it comes to the superlatives.
And the approach from BBC did indeed have substance: Spleen United has now been invited to BBC1’s studios in London at the end of April or in the beginning of May, the object is one of the renowned BBC sessions.
BBC’s enthusiasm in Holland did not stand alone. Music critic, Dan Martin, from New Musical Express also saw the concert and, subsequently, he wrote in the Express’ Eurosonic coverage:
”…But the best seem to be Spleen United, a magnificent electro-rock outfit from Denmark, who make rich chunky electro-rock that leaves you feeling woozy and strangely satisfied.”
And the increased attention doesn’t end just yet. German Rockpalast was also on the spot with rolling cameras at Spleen United’s Eurosonic-concert. It has been decided that WDR’s famous music show will air a one-and-a-half hour selection from this year’s festival at 00.30 on the night between March 5-6.
